My name is GuoQiang Xie and I am a MA student at SCAD.

My main interests are dynamics simulation and tool development. Before attending SCAD I worked in the CG industry for seven years and prior to that I attended a university in China for engineering. Since studying at SCAD, Houdini, RenderMan and Naiad have become my favorite software. When I use Maya I like to use Mel and Python to speed up my work, but I found Houdini’s procedural work flow gives me more enormous possibilities, and also my Renderman knowledge can be very easily applied in Houdini. I am very familiar with Maya and Houdini dynamics systems and can use them very creatively in production environment.
